Tonight’s The Night

Tonight is the culmination of one year’s work for our National Night Out team:  Officer Ivette Brown, Officer Craig Medon, PSO Jessica Solomon, PSO Chuck Marsh, Karen Adcock, Senior Services Director, Brian Marzolf, Recreation Director, all of the volunteers and the many police staff volunteers and their families.  (I know I missed someone, sorry)  They have been working like crazy for months and today it has reached a fever pitch.

Yes, we’ve been watching the weather with disappointment.  We’re hoping that the rain will hold off long enough for you to enjoy the evening with us.  We are not going to cancel at this point.  We are watching the weather maps closely and if it appears that there will be lightening during the event or if a tornado warning is issued, we’ll cancel and get that out over NIXLE, Twitter and on Facebook.  Don’t worry, we have plans for any weather emergency and we’ll make sure you are in a safe place if it strikes while you’re here.

Right now we’re still planning to go ahead.

Keep your fingers crossed that we won’t need those detailed plans.
